Fashion Week sneak peek!

Sorry for the lack of posts in recent times, for those I haven't been excitedly and annoyingly talking their ears off about it, I am at London fashion week S/S 2012! Sketching from the catwalk, I'm collaborating with Access Fashion and their wonderful amazing team, check out their website here its pretty awesome.
But while my sketchbooks are full with lots of speedy nonsensical drawings which have yet to be deciphered here are some snapshots of my week so far. The highlight has to be the Temperly show at the British Museum, I've long been a fan of her dresses, always beautiful to draw, and in real life they are stunning. And for those eagle eyed celeb viewers I've put a picture up of the star studded front row. And for any other eagle eyed people, see if you can spot me sketching in the front row at Spijkers En Spijkers (top right picture) here.
Stay tuned for full coverage of my week, with still 2 days to go, hopefully I'l start uploading the fashion diary I've been writing.
Locations are, Somerset House, Freemasons Hall, Various hotels, and the photographs here are from Temperly, Kristoff Strozyna, Daks and Teatum Jones.

New Blood

I'm also exhibiting at the D&AD new blood, its worth a visit just to see all the different university work and our good looking stand, come along if you have a spare tenner (ruling out any of my friends) and your near shoreditch. Info here

1.5 metres by 3 metres.

Thats how big my final piece turned out to be for our graduate show, which happened about 2 weeks ago but I'm only just getting round to putting any pictures up. Due to spending the last week in a muddy Somerset field. The piece was based on Alexander Mcqueen (for a change) including his gold plated fox skeleton and his taxidermy bird dress. All original drawing.

Finally

After many attempts at re-sizing my images are finally online! These are double page spreads from my book. Which are due in for my deadline tomorrow. My last EVER uni project. It's the end of an era. And the beginning of the unknown. Which is terrifying. Anyway more pics to come.

The beginning of the end

I've just ordered my book off Blurb.com and fingers crossed it arrives before my deadline! Unfortunately blogspot has turned on me and I can't upload ANY of my final images in my book, so for now you'l have to imagine what they look like... but I did manage to upload the front cover. Which has no real title. I was going to name it after the title of the Alexander Mcqueen collection, but then I found out it was actually named 'Untitled' which I wasn't convinced would make the best title for my book. Anyway watch this space, I may one day actually be able to upload my jpegs of my final work.

Second

attempt to upload some images. Very frustrating process, uploading one at a time, when I could be doing something valuable like being outside in the sunshine. Or catching up on some much needed sleep.

Brick Wall

is what I'm metaphorically hitting when trying to upload some of my final book images up here. Out of 17 images these are the only ones that would load.I have some serious JPEG issues that need addressing. I'l be back soon, I'm just busy working myself into insanity.

150 Drawings Later..

And I've finally started working on my final images. These are a little preview, there going to change (hopefully for the better) but I'm starting to find the style I want and actually started enjoying it! Lots and lots to do, it's just dawning on me how little time is left, and how much I don't want to leave. But I've been a bit obsessed over the past week, I've started having dreams about photoshop needless to say I'm looking forward to my easter break. And if anyone would give me some feedback I'd be grateful...

Coming Soon

To the casual observer I have not been uploading as much as I should these past few weeks. Well this is all because I had a very bright idea, why be restricted by the small page of an A3 paper when I could be working on A2? Well it took a while to click, that there is no A2 scanner in uni, or indeed London/the world, so I will be booking the photography studio in order to edit these images for my book. Good times. So once they are done, they will be uploaded for your viewing pleasure, until then, I'l just be uploading any little pointless sketches. Be well.

Cheekiness

I really haven't updated in a good while. So I'm uploading everything from the past few weeks in all there unorganised glory. First of lets start with some cheekiness, which involved me replacing many wonderful fashion editorials, with my own illustration for my professional practice module in an effort to make my illustration look real and like it might actually belong in the real world. Fingers crossed! Editorials/articles and the odd cover taken from Lula Mag, Dazed and Confused, Elle magazine etc. Let me know what you think.

Sequences

My first sequence. Very simple. But hopefully I'l have many more by the end of next week.

Part III

Well this is the last of my drawing development, now it's time to focus on final imagery and narrative for the book. I've started to include more observational drawing in my images but it's early stages and I've got loads more drawing to do, good times.
